Information you provide

ShipScanner processes origin and destination PIN codes, parcel weight, dimensions and payment type to calculate domestic comparison results within India. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for sender or recipient names, street addresses or payment details. City and PIN-code searches use public postal directory information.

Optional location detection

If you choose “Use my location,” your browser asks for permission. Approximate coordinates are used once to retrieve an Indian PIN code and locality through OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service. ShipScanner does not create a location history, and you can always enter the PIN code manually instead.

Courier estimates and service providers

To return a comparison, parcel-search inputs may be sent securely from our server to third-party rate providers. Our hosting and security providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and request logs for reliability, fraud prevention and abuse prevention.

Advertising, cookies and similar technologies

ShipScanner does not currently require advertising cookies to provide a quote. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses or other device identifiers to deliver, limit, personalise and measure advertising, subject to your consent where required. Where applicable, a consent message will let you accept, reject or manage advertising choices before consent-based advertising storage is used. You can also manage Google advertising preferences through My Ad Center and control cookies in your browser.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information. Quote inputs are used to provide the requested comparison. Technical logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting and site operation, subject to the policies of the providers involved.

Your choices

You may use ShipScanner without creating an account, decline location permission and enter PIN codes manually. You may also block or delete cookies through your browser, although some future advertising preferences may then need to be selected again.
